ok, long time deadhead here from cleveland, did tour , love Jerry, yadda yadda.

now whats the trick to gettin these sbd's on my comp for burning purposes? I know its possible, and whatever copywright laws might apply can suck my ass and licks my balls, so how do i do it? Im eventually gonna figure it out anyways so any help would be grately appreciated.

p.s. no replies with your "opinion" on file sharing, thats old, were in the digital age, copywright laws are completely obselete. theyre on their last gasp. I still cant beleive Grisman made an ass out of himself with that whole youtube thing.

down with Elitism

ok thanks , thats all i needed. definetly a heated discussion which i fully anticipated, even though i asked for a simple answer you all gave me your oinions regardless.

just because a law is written doesnt mean it can be enforced. will i take advantage of that?, absolutely. just like people with law degrees take advantage of their clients by extorting them.

its not a question of getting soundboards, ill get whatever i want from torrents, its a question about getting them from this site.

If I may, I'll let the multi-talented Mr Keller Williams speaks for me here:

"But that was cut short by a bunch of jealous,
party bashin', buzz thrashin', gate crashin', stinky bastards

And if you're one of them
And you hear this song

Fuck you
You cocksucking motherfucker

Fuck You
You cocksucking motherfucker

Fuck You."

You catch my drift?

A-HA I GOT IT, IT WORKS!!!!! WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

a little playin around with the cache memory, and actually you can do it with windows media player (TM).

well ive never posted here before and ill never do it again. if the Boys never wanted sbd's out there then they never wouldve let anyone hook up or make copies, they cant just come out with a desicion 40 years too late without consensus from the band leader....

dude theyre all right here in front of you, all you have to do is grab it, strike the hammer while iron is hot.

regardless of your opinion on file sharing, i dont wanna get anyone pissed off. all i needed was a "its not possible" or "just check out the torrents"

so get off your computer, go outside, enjoy the weather and the people who are real and not just text on a screen.
the beach awaits my arrival. oh ya and the dancing girls too.

Here's that one in a thousand cool dude who knows more than we do and is always right. Just because he walked into a room full of upright folks doesn't mean we should beat him up forr it.

I'm sure those dancing girls at his imaginary beach will do it for us.

Amazing how he backed down about copyright law and lapsed into the if it hangs in the air it's mine argument.

The best part about his post is when he promised to go away and leave us imaginary folk alone to post our imaginary post to our imaginary friends. At least our women aren't imaginary!

Gotta love it!

Much, if not all, of what Lazy had to said in this thread was either blatantly false, ignorant, or somewhat humorous. His last post fell in to the humorous category. Telling others to go outside, talk to real people, so on and so forth implying members of this forum do nothing more with our time and lives than sit in fronnt of our computers. Seems to me HE is and archive member, HE started this thread, HE responded numerous times to others replies within this thread, none of which he could have done without being guilty of doing the same thing he was attempting to belittle others for.

In hindsight, I guess this post of his wasn't really "humorous" after all. Seems more hypocritical than anything else.

the LMA policy is to respect the wishes of the artists...this trust is one of the reasons that so many have uploaded their music...other sites have other causes and other effects...none equal this site for grace and class

if you feel entitled, then go for it...but don't expect your disrespect for this library to be welcome here

"ok thanks , thats all i needed. definetly a heated discussion which i fully anticipated, even though i asked for a simple answer you all gave me your oinions regardless."

Here's mine, ASSHOLE! There are other places, where you can download Grateful Dead streams. Go download some free MP3 music from DEAD.NET! New stuff there every week.

Then learn how to use "bit torrent" software and download some more music from those sites. Find them all by yourself! Don't ask any of us WTF to do with those lossless FLAC and SHN files; so they work on a regular CD player.

We aren't gonna tell you what (if any) software will download MP3s from the Archive. And I won't even tell a jerk like you, just what software can also steal Grateful Dead videos from You Tube.

You don't like the Grateful Dead's policy? Get on Bob Weir's ass about it. The Archive is just following his orders. Somebody this "hell bent" on downloading these streams, must be the type; who wants to flood the market with lossy MP3s. He might even be tempted to peddle some bootleg CDs, to Heads who aren't this tech savvy, and don't even use computers. I actually know a few of them and we just swap disks, one for one. No money involved in these trades at all...

copywright (sic) laws are completely obsolete? Hmm...

Down with elitism???? Because you want the soundboards, you are entitled to the same?

I guess my reply is that you can figure out how to do what you want to do by trolling around the net for this info instead of raising the ire of the moderators and the folks that allow us to stream the same. DON'T FUCK THIS UP FOR US YOU ASSHOLE.

On a kinder note, might I suggest that there are some folks you can trade with the old fashioned way? Of course, count me out....

first of all there is no "allowing us to stream" we are all entitled to this music, your letting this site dictate what you listen to and how you act. this music was made for us to copy and trade, If Jerry knew what was going on these days hed be totally disgusted. especially when another head ungraciously attacks another for asking for shows.

yes copywright laws are obselete, if they still applied i wouldnt be able to dl on limewire or bearshare, so there, your comepletely wrong.

and btw just because im not striving to sound like an intellectual doesnt mean im a moron. your the ones thinking inside the box....

Whether I'm thinking inside the box, outside the box, or ready to put you in the box and bury you six feet 'neath the ground is neither here nor there. What pisses me off is you strutting in here with a hand full of gimme thinking that in some way you are owed, that you have rights to this stuff and frankly friend you are not and you do not.

Wish I could take the credit but I'm afraid I can't. It's a line from a Fred Neil song, called 'Handful of Gimme'

You waltz in here
With a handful of gimme
A mouthful of much obliged
I go home feeling empty
From all you signify

I thought it was appropriate to the situation.

"Fuck 'people's music'." laughs Jerry Garcia from a reclining seat in the plush, wood-finished business offices of the band. "I mean, I thought it was a dumb discussion even when it was the big thing awhile back to talk about how music should be free... that music belongs to the people and musicians rip them off. That kind of thing really irks me.

That's all, have a nice day!

well, fuck me up the ass, looks like i should sue my law school for that worthless piece of paper hanging on my wall.

glad jerry told you his wishes - because buddha knows that in 1995 he certainly understood the implications of thousands of folks downloading a show at the click of a button as opposed to a trading COMMUNITY which are still allowed to freely trade shows

just because the technology exists to download shows, that doesn't give you the automatic right to what is available. Even John Perry Barlow would tell you the same.

That's why I modified it - I lived there for a summer and will be the first to admit there are some really cool things about Cleveland and I know some great people there and from there. Next beer is on me at the Grog and Tankard.

And like someone mentioned the other day, Ohio has lots of beautiful countryside.
